Relationships: Gen X > Gen Y > Gen ??

As the Gen X goes to Gen Y and Gen Y is soon going to give way to a Gen Z..i stop to wonder where we all are going. Isnt moving ahead the motto of life? We grow up listening to our parents. even if not following what they have to say, nonetheless, learning lessons from our own mistakes and experiences!!!

Relationships is what the world is made up of. No matter what you have today, what you are going to achieve tomorrow, the lack of good relations in your life is going to hit you somewhere. We are all social animals. We were born in a social environment which went on to become a global, social village. Much smaller, much more adaptable, accessible and global.

Once upon a simple long long time ago, the story was quite uncomplicated. You were born, you grew up, you met someone, you fell in love and you got married or you just met someone and your parents got you married. We often hear from our parents: it was all so uncomplicated in our times.
We as human beings evolve, move ahead, invent new technologies to make our life easier but in the long run we just end up complicating things. As my dad says "Life is simple. We complicate it."

Today, we are constantly in love. There isnt a special someone..but there are a lot of someones. Affairs, non committal relationships, one night stands top the charts. Are we moving ahead or are we just going back to by gone stone age era of primitive men, where there was no social conduct, no social form, no culture, no set ways of doing things? The era in which men had multiple partners, there was no defined way of earning ones bread, men and women like wise were cannibals and ones satiation- hunger or otherwise was the prime concern and not the means by which they were fulfilled.

Did we evolve from this specimen into a well integrated cultured society, only to go back a zillion years or is there a better explanation?!

  3. its really not like that...its us..we cn't wait for the right one..we are just very desperate to gain momentary happiness..
we need to b more patient wid ourselves..our destiny...
yes..we make things complex..cause we put full efforts in makin things comfortable to us rather than makin ourselves comfrtbl to the situations...
we really need to wait..hav patience..n not run to fulfill our demands..accept nature as it is..accept destiny as it is..n not try to manipulate or play with our lives...
and what makes u think that people in the past..who were married w/o seeing each other..marriages that were arranged by the parents were successful?n that they were happy?n tht it wasn't complex??women were taught to unconditionally sacrifice..
thirdly- ignorance is bliss!i don't think women in the past lived!
    i don't knw..if i made some sense

  5. i think we have become impatient. we want instant gratification. why do u think people have non committal affairs n one night stands? i think they want to satisfy their desires and not be emotionally involved. basically, everyone is afraid of heartaches in relationships. by trying to simplify our lives, i guess we make them complicated. though im not able to relate with complications!

and i agree with ruchi.even though because of the society married couples are still together, they aren't necessarily happy.
